About Zivena Health

Valerie Reed ARNP- Founder/Owner/ Care Provider

Valerie Reed, ARNP, is an Adult Nurse Practitioner with 30 years in nursing— including 20+ years as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. Her earlier RN experience includes acute and chronic hemodialysis, therapeutic plasmapheresis, and coronary care unit (CCU) practice. She now spans hospitalist medicine, pulmonary/critical care, post-acute care, mental health, nephrology, pain management, and primary care (acute and chronic disease management).

Raised in Ravenna, Ohio, she earned her BSN (1990) and MSN (2000) from Kent State University and has been ANCC board-certified in Adult Health since 2000. She has practiced in Ohio, Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, and New York. Now based on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, she is affiliated with post-acute care companies on the peninsula and is the founder/owner of Zivena Health.

Her practice includes serving as the primary care provider (PCP) for residents in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted-living facilities (ALFs) and adult family homes.  She also provides problem-based consultations when she is not the established PCP and offers virtual visits for adults seeking primary care or problem-focused consultations. She provides evidence-informed integrative care and non-opioid pain strategies coordinated with traditional pharmacotherapy, consistent with state regulations and facility policies. Licensure: ARNP (Washington); NP (Oregon).

Outside of work, Valerie enjoys exploring the Olympic Peninsula’s mountains and beaches, backcountry hiking, observing wildlife, and staying active; she’s a retired marathon runner.
